This webpage was created for the ARH 246 History of Graphic Design course (Section AA, Fall Semester, 2016), at Siena Heights University, taught by Professor Peter Barr.
The purpose of the site is to document and showcase one of Jenny Holzer's truisms, as a series of designs in which the sounds are represented by letter forms from a dozen different Ancient and Medieval historic languages.
Pictured on the left is one of Jenny Holzer's "Truism" posters, from which we have selected a passage, whos sounds will be translated, using the letterforms and design conventions of the twelve historical writing systems.
Within this poster I selected "REJECT AQUANTANCES, DISCARD OBJECTS, FORGET TRUTHS".
